Computer Aided Design
& Manufacture (CAD/CAM)
I began learning with Pro-E in drafting class at Hastings Senior High School in 2009, where over the next two years we drew and built various projects utilizing traditional hand and power tools, as well as laser engravers, such as CO2 propelled cars, rockets (water pressure and solid fuel), wind turbines, and more. My teacher from this class is willing to be a reference for any potential employers.
Since then, I have gained experience in 3-axis CNC machining, Fused Deposition Modeling (filament-based 3D printing), and Monochromatic Stereolithography 3D Printing (MSLA, a photopolymer-based 3D printing technique).
I currently prefer the CAD/CAM program Autodesk Fusion due to its comprehensive toolsets, including FEA, CAM, and, most excitingly, Generative Design. Generative Design utilizes machine learning to create efficient and organic component shapes by considering inputs such as load cases, geometry constraints, and manufacturing methods. This makes it invaluable not only for mass-sensitive, high-performance aerospace components but also for industries like automotive, healthcare, consumer products, robotics, and renewable energy, where innovation and material efficiency are paramount.
While Autodesk Fusion is my preferred tool, I am eager to expand my skills and adapt to other CAD or analysis software, to meet the specific needs of any industry or role. I’m also excited to learn more about fabrication and production techniques.
My future endeavors also include exploring lost wax casting for metals like gold, silver, bronze, and aluminum. I’ve already ‘invested’ (pun intended) in most of the necessary equipment. However, due to potential safety hazards—such as silicosis and fire risks—within my apartment building, securing a proper workspace is currently the limiting factor.
Please enjoy the various drawings and projects I’ve created, and feel free to reach out if you’re interested in collaborating or would like my support with 3D design or manufacture..

Blue Moon MK1 Lander
Drawn in Fusion and printed in MSLA, with a. quarter for scale. If you’re interested in printing it yourself, the STL file is available here
Tetrahedral Space Frame
Drawn in Fusion and printed in polylactic acid after I assembled my first 3D printer. This print is composed of interlocking equilateral triangles. Tetrahedral structures, known for combining aesthetic appeal with structural efficiency, are frequently employed in aerospace and architectural applications.

Gymnastics Equipment
I’ve found CAD to be a fun way to add value to the gymnastics gyms I work at. Whether it’s to help with lesson planning / equipment layout or to learn a new skill. I’m currently starting a consulting service you can read about on the GymEvolution Designs page
Mooncake Mould
To celebrate lunar new year with homemade mooncakes, I built a desktop CNC and milled this custom mould. The mould is reversed for readability
